riding for the next generation of MVPs
In March 2017 we heard the words no parent is ready to hear. Our 11-year-old son was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in his femur. What followed was months of grueling in-patient chemotherapy and a life-altering amputation. In December 2017 he rang the bell, but the journey didn't end there.
Today he is cancer free and a 21-year-old college athlete. He didn't just survive; he thrived. This year he was named MVP when Auburn won the Collegiate Wheelchair Basketball National Championship!
Now, it’s my turn to push my limits.
I am a total beginner. A friend loaned me a bike, and I’ve never ridden long distances. But from September 10-13, I’m riding 250 miles (400 km) through Quebec in the Randstad Ride. I’m doing this to raise money for the scholarships that help pediatric cancer survivors become champions.
My son showed me what true "out of the comfort zone" looks like. Please join me in supporting these kids. Your contribution goes toward research and hope.
