Honoring My Grandmother by Giving Survivors the Same Opportunity I Was Given

Cancer isn't just a cause to me, it's personal.

I lost my grandmother to cancer, but before she passed, she gave me one of the greatest gifts I've ever received: an education. She believed in its value so strongly that she helped pay for my schooling, opening doors that shaped my career and my life.

Because of her generosity, I was able to start my career in accounting working with organizations supporting cancer research. I've always wanted to find a meaningful way to give back to a cause that has impacted my family, and the Randstad Ride for Myriam gives me that opportunity.

This September, I'll ride 240 miles over three days to raise money for scholarships for childhood cancer survivors. The mission resonates with me because education change the course of my life, and these scholarships help give young survivors the opportunity to build theirs.

Every donation helps a child who has already fought one of life's toughest battles pursue their future through education.
