do you believe in signs?

This year marks my 3rd time participating and fundraising for the Randstad ride but I have been lacking motivation and also experiencing heavy feelings about my participation after fundraising last year, and not being able to do the ride, with the sudden passing of my mom. 

The weekend the ride started, was the same weekend we brought my mom home for palliative care.

But a few weeks ago, right before Easter I received a sign - and I have to believe it was from her.

We had just bought our first house and pulled a bunch of tiger lilies that were overtaking the pathway to our backyard.

Every stem was pulled from the root and we laid down tarp hoping nothing would bloom there this spring. 

But the Saturday before Easter, we saw something blooming underneath the tarp and thought it was the lilies - they're back. 

But it was in fact a new flower. One we hadn't seen last spring - a daffodil. The flower of the Canadian Cancer Society. 

A symbol of hope and strength which I often search for after my moms passing. 

I know my mom sent them - they just had to be from her, for us, the day before Easter. 

There were four to be specific, one for me, my 2 sisters and my dad - no other flower in sight. 

So I've finally got into gear and started my fundraising (and training), in honour of my mom who lost her battle to cancer last summer.  

I will be cycling 400KM+ over 4 days, starting in Niagara Falls Buffalo to downtown Toronto. 

With your help I am hoping to raise $2000 with 100% of your donation going to the Canadian Cancer Society.
